Landscape Design Across Upper Kittitas County

Based in Cle Elum, we design, build and care for landscapes across the upper county, from Easton to the Teanaway, and take on work farther down the valley too.

Winter is design season

Plans drawn over the winter are first on the build schedule when the ground thaws.

We’re based in Cle Elum, and most of our work is in the upper county within an easy drive of home: Roslyn, Suncadia and Tumble Creek, Easton and Ronald each have their own page. Properties up here share the same challenges, freeze-thaw winters, heavy snow, spring runoff, dry summers and steep ground, but every town meets them a little differently, and so does a good design.

Cle Elum and South Cle Elum

Cle Elum is home base, and South Cle Elum sits just across the Yakima River. In town, lots are smaller and closer together, so projects are often about making a yard work harder: a patio or walkway, beds that look good from the street, a sprinkler system that waters the lawn instead of the sidewalk. Out on the edges of town, the lots get bigger and the landscape design work does too. Being close to home also means less drive time, which matters when neighbors want to share a maintenance schedule.

Teanaway

The Teanaway valley is bigger, more open country: acreage, long driveways and homes set back from the road. Out there the work is usually about water and access, like regrading a drive that washes out every spring, ditches and swales that move snowmelt away from the house, and rockery to hold a cut bank. Dry summers and wildfire season make lighter brush clearing around the house worth a conversation, too.

Thorp

Thorp is down the valley toward Ellensburg, farther from home base than most of our projects. We do take work there. Call and tell us what you have in mind, and we’ll be straight with you about scheduling and whether we’re the right fit for the job.

Brandon & his team are fantastic. The crew is cheerful & personable. Many homes in our neighborhood use Swiftwater Earthworks for jobs large & small.

Kittitas and Ellensburg

The same goes for Kittitas and Ellensburg in the lower county. It’s open, drier country and a longer drive for our crews than our upper-county work, so give us a call first and we’ll talk it through honestly.

Good questions

Common questions

Don't see yours? Call or text 509-260-3659, or send us a note and Brandon will talk it through.

What areas do you serve?

Mostly upper Kittitas County: Cle Elum, South Cle Elum, Roslyn, Suncadia and Tumble Creek, Ronald, Easton and the Teanaway. We also take work in Thorp, Kittitas and Ellensburg, so call and ask.

Do you meet with people in the winter?

Yes. Winter is our design season, and Brandon does walk-throughs even with snow on the ground. Plans made over the winter get the earliest spring start.

Can neighbors go in together on maintenance?

Yes. Homes up here are spread out, so drive time is a big part of the cost. When neighbors on the same road or in the same HOA sign up together, the price for everyone can drop a lot.

Yard care is better with neighbors

Once your landscape is in, we can keep it looking the way it did on day one: mowing, trimming, bed refreshes and sprinkler care. Up here, much of what you pay for is our drive between yards, so when neighbors on the same road or in the same HOA sign up together, the price for everyone can drop a lot.
