Every house collects a list. A door that sticks, a ceiling stain from an old leak, a light fixture that quit, a gate that won’t latch. At a second home, the list grows while you’re away and is waiting for you the minute you walk in.
Swiftwater Houseworks takes care of that list. We’re the property-care division of Swiftwater Earthworks, based in Cle Elum. We’re local and bonded, and we’re glad to work while you’re out of town.
What we fix
- Drywall repair and ceiling patches. Holes, cracks, water-stained sections and old patches that never quite blended in, cut out, taped, mudded and sanded smooth.
- Ceiling texture. Re-applying texture so a repair disappears instead of announcing itself.
- Doors. Sticking, sagging and broken doors repaired, and new doors installed.
- Light fixtures and fans. Old fixtures swapped out, ceiling fans hung, broken pieces replaced.
- Basic plumbing and electrical repairs. Drippy faucets, running toilets, a switch or outlet that quit.
- Smart-home upgrades. Smart thermostats and keypad locks that make a second home or rental easier to run from a distance.
- Fence and gate repair. Leaning posts, broken rails and gates that drag or won’t latch.
- Insulation. Filling the gaps in garages and walls that let the cold in.

Built for homes that sit empty
A lot of houses around Cle Elum, Roslyn and Suncadia are second homes and rentals, and that changes how a handyman needs to work. Send us your list, with photos if you have them. We set up access with you, quote the work and get it done while you’re away, so you arrive to a house where everything works.
For rental hosts, we fit repairs in between guests. If you’d like the cleaning and the yard handled too, look at vacation home care and house cleaning. We also take on punch lists for real estate agents getting a house ready to list and for builders wrapping up a project.
Brandon & his team are fantastic. The crew is cheerful & personable. Many homes in our neighborhood use Swiftwater Earthworks for jobs large & small.
A few things we see up here
- Winter moves houses. Freeze-thaw cycles and dry winter heat open hairline cracks at drywall seams and corners. A proper patch fixes it. A crack that keeps coming back in the same spot is worth a closer look.
- Fix the leak before the ceiling. A water stain means water came from somewhere: the roof, a window or a pipe. Patching drywall over an active leak just means patching it again, so we help you find the source before we close it up.
- Cold garages cost you. An uninsulated garage wall or the space above a garage door lets cold into the rooms next to it. Filling those gaps is a small job that you’ll feel in January.
- Check doors and gates before you leave. A door that doesn’t latch or a gate that swings open in the wind is an easy fix in October and a bigger problem by February.

When the job grows
If the list turns into a room that needs paint, trim and new fixtures, that’s a small remodel. If the floor is the problem, see flooring installation. And when a job reaches past what we do best, Brandon will connect you with a local business he trusts.
