What's the difference between a landscape designer and a landscape architect?

A landscape architect holds a state license and usually draws plans for someone else to build. We're landscape designers and a design-build company: we walk your property, draw the plan and build it with our own crew.

When should I plan my project, and when do you build?

Plan in winter. We design from October through February, schedule in March and build from about March or April through September, and plans made over the winter get the earliest spring start.

Can you look at my property in winter, with snow on the ground?

Yes. Brandon does winter walk-throughs even with snow on the ground. We can still read the slope, the trees, the sun and where water will run in spring, and that's enough to start a plan.

What happens at a free design consult?

Brandon walks the property with you, hears what you have in mind and looks at slope, soil, sun, snow and water. You'll come away with ideas for what would work there, and we follow up with an estimate.

What area do you serve?

Kittitas County, mostly the upper county: Cle Elum, South Cle Elum, Roslyn, Ronald, Easton, Suncadia including Tumble Creek, and the Teanaway. We also work in Thorp, Kittitas and Ellensburg.

Do you do landscape maintenance?

Yes. We offer mowing, edging, leaf clearing, trimming and pruning, planting, mulch, weed control, bed refreshes and sprinkler care for homeowners, HOAs and businesses.

What is neighbor pricing?

Homes are spread out up here, so much of the cost of maintenance is drive time. When neighbors on the same road or in the same HOA sign up together, the price can drop for everyone, sometimes by a lot.

Do you work with HOAs?

Yes. We offer group rates for HOA landscape maintenance, and neighbor pricing works especially well when a whole community signs up together.

Do you do spring sprinkler start-ups?

Yes. We handle spring start-ups along with repairs, leak fixes, adjustments and new sprinkler installations. Sprinkler work is the service customers mention most in our reviews.

Can you help with Suncadia or Tumble Creek design review?

Suncadia, including Tumble Creek, has its own landscape guidelines and review process. We've designed and built there and plan with those guidelines in mind, and the final approval always comes from the community.

What does Swiftwater Houseworks do?

Houseworks is our property-care division: handyman repairs, small remodels, flooring installation, vacation home care and house cleaning. It makes us one local call for the house as well as the yard.

Do you clean vacation rentals and second homes?

Yes. We clean kitchens, living spaces and bathrooms, restock, vacuum, sweep and mop, and work from photo-proof checklists. Laundry, hot tub service, deep cleans and same-day turnovers are available as add-ons.

Are you bonded and certified?

Yes. We're bonded, and we hold OSHA Standards / Class 30, Operators License, CPR and UST Class A, B & C certifications.

How do I get a quote?
